My Week at Wieden+Kennedy

My week at Wieden + Kennedy started off by walking into the glass double doors thinking they would open for me. I don’t think anybody noticed that which is good.
I’m sure everyone says the same thing, as soon as you walk into reception; you notice the displays – which is true. They are everywhere.
Posters, sculptures, phrases, images, colour, advertisement.
So much that it all just blends. This is what made the building such a hospitable environment to be in. No wonder their advertisement works (by the way it does because my mum is now religiously devoted to Lurpak).
You become instantly inspired and driven to create something amazing. Something impactful. And then you find yourself alphabetically ordering DVD’s. Which is all part of work experience. At least I’m not franking mail all day.
In all honesty, it was one of the most influential experiences of my life – helping the creative research and inputting small amounts made me feel a part of the W+K ecosystem. By the second day I already knew this is what I wanted. A career where the very place I work helps motivate and inspire. I noticed that the relaxed atmosphere I felt originally was actually the very opposite. Deadlines exist. People do get stressed, but the drive comes from the feeling of doing something that you are passionate about.
W+K is different from any other job I can imagne – even in advertising. It allows personality to flourish and enhance. Everyone is different, and everyone makes mistakes, but that is nothing to cry about. These attributes are key to become a part of the W+K lifestyle, and as long as you own a pair of Nike’s – you will be right at home.

Coursework

Wow, i'm finding coursework a lot harder and more painstaking than i thought it would be. It's the art and geography thats dragging me down the most to be honest. I just can concentrate.

French trip

Just got back from the French trip to the Chateau Beaumont! It was great omg and I made loads of new friends :)
This is Jess and Emma by the way (Emma's blog name is shorelikethebeach). We are drinking tea in some really nice seaside village :)
I made a new guy friend for once; Lukey Kookey as I call him :)

The center was great; our room was by far the best because we had our own bathroom between the three of us with two working showers. I had a room with Luke and Leo which was good because they are nice :)
I did miss home quite a bit however I miss France too! I miss the late games of 'would you rather' and playing cards and our excursions out and just generally being with all of my friends for most of the time. Surprisingly we  nobody really argued either which was good. I guess we are just all too old for all that now. I will attach one last picture of all the group and add other memories as I come to them I guess :D

Spotify for Android (The new version)

So today I buy Spotify premium, and download Spotify's brand new Spotify mobile app for Android so i'm gonna give it a shot at this reviewing lark.

So Spotify's new mobile app entered beta a few weeks ago bringing with it a completely re-thought user interface, better quality album art across the platform and access to friends' playlists. It is compatible with all ICS (Android 4.0) devices and most Gingerbread devices (including most tablets). Now, for the first time on a mobile device, you can check out the related artists view, check out friends' and all of their playlists and a new nice looking slide out 'now playing' section which includes, finally, high resolution album art. You can even scrobble to last.fm , now isn't that nice.

Although it hasn't hit the Play Store yet, it is speedy, responsive and all over a much better experience than it's predecessor. Spotify are yet to add more features soon before it is on the Store, but if you can't wait go check it out for yourself by clicking here!

(remember to go to settings>applications>unknown sources (and check the box) so you can install APK's from the browser)

My Android Nightmare

Aah where to start omg.
Today I decided that i was finally fed up with all of the horrid Orange stuff installed on my HTC, so i set out on a mission to get rid of it all. I wouldn't mind but i'm not even on Orange. So i found out that i need to root and S-OFF my phone to do this. So I search the Internet for an entire hour looking at how to do this then I download several files only to find out that my build number (whatever that is) is branded to Orange, therefore i'm not allowed to do any of that.
I could have killed.
The end <3
